R. Kelly‘s life is in complete turmoil. He is facing 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse for allegedly assaulting three underage girls and one adult woman. Also, he reportedly owes his former landlord, Midwest Commercial Funding, more than $260,000 in unpaid rent. Now his assets at Sony Music have been frozen, according to The Blast.

“According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Kelly’s former landlord, Midwest Commercial Funding recently issued a subpoena to Sony Music Holdings, Inc and was able to get the music company to freeze $264,535 in Kelly’s biannual royalty account,” the website wrote.

Midwest is asking the court “to allow them to retrieve the money from Sony.” That will more than likely not be an issue for Sony because the company split with him after “Surviving R. Kelly” aired in January.

The $264,535 was an interesting twist considering the singer asking a judge to allow him to fly to Dubai for a performance. NBC News reported Kelly’s lawyer Steven A. Greenberg said in a court filing that the singer needs money because “he has struggled of late to pay his child support and other child related expenses.”

Allegedly, there was no performance scheduled and Kelly’s team pulled the request.

Kelly was arrested Feb. 23 after surrendering to Chicago police following his indictment on the same day for 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. After spending the weekend in jail because he arguably had trouble paying the $100,000 for bail, a woman friend of his posted his bond.

Kelly was taken into custody again for failing to pay more than $160,000 in child support but was released a few days later after someone else paid his bond.

The latest sex crime charges he is facing stem from attorney Michael Avenatti giving purported child porn videos that featured the singer. Avenatti said he was hired last April in connection to multiple allegations of Kelly sexually assaulting minors. He claimed to have videotaped evidence, which, despite their similarities, were apparently not the same video footage that got Kelly indicted in 2002 — and acquitted in 2008 — for child porn.

Interest in seeing Kelly charged for his alleged crimes came at the beginning of the year when the bombshell docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly” aired with several women accusing him of sexually abusing them when they were underage.
