Ever since Meek Mill was released from jail in April, he has been using his power and access as a celebrity for good. Now the rapper is fighting back against a famous Las Vegas hotel that denied him entry because it’s their “private property.”

The Philly rapper is threatening to sue.

According to TMZ, Meek arrived at the hotel at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 25 to attend a DJ Mustard concert at the Las Vegas Cosmopolitan Hotel. A Cosmopolitan employee told Meek, “Here’s the deal. You’re on private property. At this time, with the information that we have, we’re refusing to do business with you. We have the right to do that.”

When asked why, the security snapped, “We have the right to do that.” He was also threatened with an arrest.

Meek posted the exchange on IG and accused the hotel of “extreme racist levels and also wrote in the caption, “Some of these casinos have a bunch of Tatics (sic) to keep the level of blacks down …. but love to take our money!!!! This happens to a lot of black entertainers not just me either!! I felt crazy being put out by these white men for no reason!”

The story from the Las Vegas hotel is falling a part. At first, they reportedly claimed he was denied entry because he fought with a security, which Meek’s team adamantly denied. Then the hotel claims he was denied entry because Marquee was full but you clearly hear the rude security guard on camera saying he was denied entry due to a prior incident.

Joe Tacopina, Meek’s lawyer, told TMZ, “The racist hole that they [Cosmopolitan] have dug for themselves has just gotten deeper. Yesterday, when this incident unfolded, the chief security guard could not articulate a reason why Meek was denied entry and threatened with arrest. They’ve now come up with some fabricated claim through an anonymous source that Meek was involved in a fight on their property.”

He continued, “Meek Mill was never involved in a fight on their property, ever and I challenge the Cosmopolitan to produce a video of such altercation or a contemporaneous incident report. The legal case against the Cosmopolitan just got stronger.”

TMZ also reports the rapper will file a lawsuit this week against the Cosmopolitan hotel. His lawyer said they will ask for “heavy monetary damages” for “lying and humiliating Meek,” and he also added, “I’m going to take this place down because of what they did.”
