Cedric “C.J.” Lofton was killed a day before his 18th birthday. He was suffering from a mental health crisis. He was promised by cops that he would be taken from his home to a mental health facility but he was sure he'd be taken to jail. He was sure he'd be killed. Despite his delirium, he was right on both counts.

Lawmakers investigating Greene's death voted unanimously to hold former Louisiana State Police Col. Kevin Reeves in contempt of court and fine him $5,000 for refusing to turn over a handwritten journal to investigators conducting a probe into the death of Ronald Greene.

41-year-old Black woman Diane Craig was found unconscious on a bus in Phoenix, Arizona. She had been strangled, and she died from her injuries after being rushed to the hospital. Since then, Phoenix police have been on the lookout for one man, 26-year-old  Joshua Bagley.

Race Matters

Parents of students at Missouri's Holt High School are mad about an assignment that asks which political party is most likely to deny racism was involved in an incident where an unarmed Black man is shot by cops. The answer, of course, is Republicans, but my thing is—why are they mad at the obvious truth?

Police Brutality

On April 25, two police officers in East Landing, Michigan, shot and injured 20-year-old Black man DeAnthony VanAtten in a Meijer supermarket parking lot. It started when officers answered a 911 call about a Black man with a gun. Now, police have released body camera footage of the shooting.

29-year-old Jalen Randle was shot and killed in Houston, Texas, last week and his family is outraged and looking for answers. Police were after him over felony warrants. He was shot after exiting a car with a bag HPD said contained a gun.

In Saginaw, Michigan, 61-year-old Kenneth David Pilon was charged with six counts of interfering with federally protected activities. He's accused of leaving racist notes, nooses, and lynching threats during 2020 protests over the murder of George Floyd.
