Research over the past several years found that Stand Your Ground laws led to an increase in firearm homicides.
15-year-old Martell Williams said police in Waukegan, Illinois, arrested him at school and coerced him into a false confession for attempted murder. He also said a cop offered him McDonald's in exchange for his confession.

In October 2015, Black transgender woman Ju’Zema Goldring was arrested for jaywalking by Atlanta cops who also falsified cocaine charges against her by cutting up a stress ball and calling the insides cocaine even though they tested negative for it. Goldring was awarded $1.5 million in her lawsuit against the city.
