"I don't know." That's the response the North Miami police officer gave to shooting victim Charles Kinsey, when he asked why the officer opened fire as he lay flat on the ground, hands outstretched to prove he was no threat to the police.

The Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland and the recreation center where Tamir was killed stand just four miles apart, but the space between the priorities of the RNC and the people the sticker represents couldn't be further apart.

Obama addressed the group, saying, "Not only are there very real problems, but there are still deep divisions about how to solve these problems."

The mother of three from Blue Island, just 16 miles outside of Chicago, says she is unsure where we will go as a country from here, but her protest exemplifies the notion that in the fight for social justice and equality, it is deadly to be silent.

The captain posted on Facebook after protesters in South Carolina blocked a roadway off of I-26 for over one hour during a march in honor of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, two men fatally shot by police last week.

Muflahi was one of two people to come forward with footage of Sterling's shooting last Tuesday. The store owner released his video exclusively to The Daily Beast on Wednesday. Since Sterling's death, a man he considered a friend, problems have mounted for the Triple S Mart owner.

Brown's comment was one of many this weekend that lent critique to young black men without considering a system that absolves law enforcement of accountability and blame.

The letter – written by a group of unidentified students – goes on to say many felt affected by the professor's "Black Lives Matter" shirt and that it "alienates and isolates all non-black groups."

Moore says he hopes his decision will ensure justice for all involved and believes it was the right choice to make.
