Kevin Hart is receiving tons of backlash on social media after a cowboys and Indians-themed birthday party. His wife, Eniko Parrish, posted the photo on Instagram with the caption “Zos cowboys & Indians party was nothing but amazing!” To make matters worse, the photo was posted on Thanksgiving — not exactly the best day to highlight “cowboys and Indians,” considering the massive genocide of Native Americans. The comedian is defending the party and said on his SiriusXM show, “Keep in mind, the same day the Cowboys played the Washington Football Team on TV. It’s a very known fact. The reason why I’m even bringing this dumb s— up is because it shows just how stupid our world is becoming with opinions. People are at a point of an all-time high.” Sounds like Hart isn’t aware that America Indians have been fighting back against the name “Redskins” for years.
Hart also explained the party was inspired by western movies, “I’m saying the battle that is ‘assumed’ because of the movies and because of everything they’ve seen, was because of the fights that were between the cowboys and the Indians.” Hart must be oblivious to the history of racism in western movies, especially toward Native Americans.
