Kodak Black twice: first for disrespecting
Nipsey Hussle and his girlfriend
Lauren London and a second time for his half-hearted apology.

During a live broadcast Saturday on Instagram, the 21-year-old rapper expressed his intention to romantically pursue London, less than a week after Hussle was killed.
“I’ll be the best man I can be for her. I’ll give her a whole year. She might need a whole year to be crying and sh** for him,” Kodak said, noting insensitively that London is now single. “I ain’t trying to shoot my shot at her. I’m saying, listen. She can do two, three years. I’ll try to be like the friend if you need to holla or a shoulder to lean on. She can call my line.”

That came as fans worldwide mourn 33-year-old Hussle, who died outside his Los Angeles clothing store March 31 from gunshot wounds. He has been held in high esteem for his activism and community service.
The backlash against Kodak came quickly, including from rappers
T.I. and
Justin Credible, as well as DJs at Los Angeles radio station Power 106 who vowed never to play Kodak’s music for the disrespect.
Kodak didn’t fix the situation with his so-called apology in another Instagram Live broadcast.
“If I disrespected you, Lauren London, in any shape or form, I’m sorry, even though I didn’t,” he said.
Eric Holder, 29, the man accused of killing Hussle
has been arrested and charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon, according to a press release from the
Los Angeles County’s District Attorney’s Office. On Thursday, Holder entered a plea of not guilty in court.
In a separate incident, The Source also
came under fire on Twitter after it posted a video link that purported to show footage of the Holder killing Hussle and kicking the rapper in the head after firing the fatal shots that ended his life. The
post, which appeared on Tuesday, offered readers a chance to see exclusive footage from TheBlast.com. The magazine later apologized and removed the link.
London, an actress and model, honored Hussle on Tuesday in an Instagram post that featured images of the rapper and their family.
“I am completely lost. I’ve lost my best friend, my sanctuary my protector my soul … I’m lost without you. We are lost without you babe. I have no words,” she wrote.
