Nipsey Hussle Latest: Source Magazine Under Fire Over Murder Video

The Source came under fire on Twitter after it posted a link to a video that purports to show footage of the man arrested for killing Nipsey Hussle kicking the rapper in the head after firing the fatal shots that ended his life. Hussle was killed Sunday afternoon in the Crenshaw area of Los Angeles in front of a clothing store he owned called Marathon Clothing. Folks on Twitter said it was disrespectful to post a video of the 33-year-old rapper who was widely praised for his community activism. “In this surveillance footage captured from an adjacent business, a man can be seen approaching two men from behind, then raise his hand to apparently shoot them. Both men fall, with one of the men wearing a white cap, which is reportedly the fallen rapper. As Hussle appears to raise his hand in defense of the shots, the apparent shooter lets off multiple rounds and kicks Hussle in the head before running through the parking lot to flee,” the Source said. The man suspected of killing Hussle is 29-year-old Eric Holder, who was arrested Tuesday afternoon. He was found in Bellflower, California, which is located in southeast Los Angeles. Since then, more details have been coming out about Hussle’s final moments. It is now being reported why he was at his clothing store on Sunday afternoon: He was helping a formerly incarcerated friend. “The reason he was at his Marathon Clothing store Sunday is because he was trying to hook up his ex-con pal with some new gear so he could look good before meeting up with his own family and friends later in the day,” TMZ reported. The friend was recently released after serving 20 years in prison. “Nipsey didn’t notify his team or his primary security guard he’d be going to the store solo — it was a spur of the moment thing … we’re told no one in his camp was aware he’d left home,” TMZ also reported. Reportedly, Hussle, whose real name was Ermias Asghedom, knew Holder. CNN.com reported that authorities believed it was a personal dispute and that Los Angeles police Chief Michel Moore “declined to elaborate on the feud between the two, saying he didn’t want to jeopardize any potential prosecution, but he said the suspect approached Nipsey and others multiple times, engaging them in conversation.” Moore also said the dispute does not appear gang-related. On Monday afternoon, community leaders held a press conference in the same area where Hussle was shot and reflected on his work in the community.
