Across the country over the weekend, civilians took to the streets, blocking roadways while echoing a long-storied battle cry of justice and peace, to protest the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

A mayoral hopeful joins the chorus of critics who say Baton Rouge's mayor mishandled the aftermath of the Alton Sterling shooting. But Mayor Holder came out swinging at his critics.

In the newly released video, an officer can be seen pulling an object out of Sterling's pocket after he was shot multiple times. It's unclear if the object is a firearm.
