Marva Smalls has made history as the first Black woman to be appointed to serve on the Heisman Trophy Trust’s board of trustees.


The 19-year-old college football player was awarded the 82nd Heisman Trophy for an outstanding sophomore season with the Cardinals.


Rashaan Salaam, a star football player at the University of Colorado and former Chicago Bears running back, won the Heisman Trophy in 1994.


Jameis Winston, 19, freshman quarterback from Florida State, becomes the youngest player and first player from the ACC in 13 years to win the coveted Heisman trophy.
