Greene died in custody in 2019 after he was brutalized during an arrest at a traffic stop.

Louisiana State Police released the video that showed a struggle between Derrick Kittling and Deputy Rodney Anderson before the shooting.

Derrick Kittling, a Black driver killed at a traffic stop, is the brother of a top state police official.

This is the fifth pattern and practice investigation since the start of the Biden administration and the 75th such investigation since Congress established the practice in the mid-1990s.

Lawmakers investigating Greene's death voted unanimously to hold former Louisiana State Police Col. Kevin Reeves in contempt of court and fine him $5,000 for refusing to turn over a handwritten journal to investigators conducting a probe into the death of Ronald Greene.

Matthew Mire was taken safely into custody fatally shooting two people, including a state trooper, wounding three other people and getting into a shootout with another police officer. The only gunshot wound he sustained was self-inflicted.

A blend of brutality, corruption and malfeasance has been the prevailing culture in recent years within the Lousiana State Police, whose troopers are accused of killing motorist Ronald Greene.

Recently released court documents showed a group of Louisiana State Troopers joked about beating a Black man in a group text, pointing to a larger pattern of police brutality among officers in the northeast part of the state.

A jury rejected the racial profiling civil rights case against the Louisiana State Police.
