Controversial rapper DMX (pictured) was hospitalized, after suffering a concussion that resulted from an accident in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) outside of his South Carolina home, according to the Daily Mail.
DMX, whose actual name is Earl Simmons Jr., was riding down a hill in the ATV when he lost control, crashed, and landed on his backside. The rapper-turned-reality TV star reportedly blacked out after the incident and came to at the flashing lights of the ambulance.
ATVs actually cause an increasing number of injuries and is even considered to be a public health issue. With all things considered, DMX is lucky to not have sustained a brain or neurological injury, which is very common with accidents involving ATVs.
DMX posted an image of himself lying in a hospital bed with his fingers crossed and his eyes closed (pictured right). He also tweeted the following on his Twitter page:
FLIPPED MY F**KN FOUR WHEELER OVER !
Earlier this year, DMX was hospitalized due to a severe bout of food poisoning, after reportedly eating a batch of “bad shrimp.”
And only last month, it was announced that DMX’s group, the Ruff Ryders, which includes group members Eve and Jadakiss, would join the 2012 Rock the Bells Tour.
DMX, whose personal life has made for more of an interesting read than his career, was also most recently seen in the VH1 reality show “Couples Therapy” opposite his estranged wife, Tashera. The pair exposed the realities of their very rocky relationship after separating in 2010 but managing to hang in there for 20 years previously.
Watch DMX talk about his mother on “Couples Therapy” here:
The pair attempted to give their failed marriage another try by appearing on the show, especially since they have four children together. Through thick and thin, DMX’s ride or die chick stayed by her man even after the drug abuse on his part and his fathering of six outside children during their marriage. On the show, Tashera said, “I will never love anyone else like I love DMX. We are soul mates.”
