Capital Steez (pictured), a member of the rising Brooklyn-based Pro Era rap group, was found dead Monday morning, according to The Hollywod Reporter.
Steez, whose actual name was Jamal Dewar, was only 19 years young.
The young performer was just in the throes of receiving quite a bit of buzz, which was the result of the group’s most recent mixtape “PEEP: The Aprocopalypse,” on Cinematic Affairs. Steez’ passing was announced by the group’s leader Joey Bad$$ who posted the news on his Twitter account:

Police investigators have not disclosed the details of Steez’s death but there is talk that the rapper may have taken his own life. On Sunday at 11:59 pm, Steez posted a cryptic message to his nearly 11,000 Twitter followers:
