AJ Bryant (pictured) faces six criminal charges including burglary, grand theft and contributing to the delinquency of minors when he, according to the Sun Sentinelallegedly took along his two teen nephews to assist him with a couple of burglaries, while his 3- and 12-year-old sons, remained in the truck used to haul away the loot.

The Deerfield Beach, Florida, man was reportedly implicated in two heists according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office involving two abandoned neighboring homes. Unbeknownst to Bryant, he was being surveilled by someone who lived near the two homes during the two burglaries.

According to the sheriff’s office, the unnamed witness reportedly watched Bryant and his teen nephews, ages 15 and 16, remove kitchen appliances from one vacant home, place them into a pickup truck, then drive off with the two young children in tow.

Minutes later, the witness allegedly saw Bryant return in the same pickup which had apparently been emptied and this time, park in front of a neighboring home. The witness reportedly told deputies that one of the teens went to the rear of the second home, then there was the sound of glass shattering. Bryant and his young cohorts were witnessed loading more kitchen appliances onto the pickup before again speeding away.

Even though Bryant’s young children were present during both burglaries, they never assisted in the crime according to the witness.

An alert was issued and deputies discovered the three suspects and the loaded truck not far from their last job; all three were arrested.

According to the Sheriff’s office the 15-year-old was on probation for a strong-arm robbery conviction. The 16-year-old youth, who allegedly drove the truck on both jobs, only had a learner’s permit. Bryant had a suspended driver’s license states a sheriff’s report.

The teens are reportedly facing burglary and grand theft charges. Bryant’s two young sons were released to their mother.

Ironically, Bryant’s mother-in-law, Carrie Evans, loaned him her pickup but reportedly had no clue, he would use it to go on a crime spree.  Now the truck has been seized by the sheriff’s office while she desperately needs it to transport her wheelchair.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the Bryant case further to determine if he was involved in other similar burglaries in the area.
