Police are still trying to get a description of the suspects who shot three teenage girls in Clayton County.

The girls were rushed to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after being shot in a drive-by on Plover Road in an unincorporated section of  Clayton near Jonesboro, said Clayton police spokesman Officer Kevin Hughes.

On Wednesday, Hughes said detectives are following several leads, but still do not have a concrete description of the vehicle or the gunman.

Four teenage girls were standing on the side of the road talking to a group of boys when a car pulled up,  Hughes said.

Several men were inside the car. As the car slowly drove by, one of the men opened fire.

The gunman fired at least 11 shots before the car sped off, Hughes said. Three of the girls were struck.
