An Augusta, Georgia man is in jail accused of giving his 9-year-old so much alcohol she had to be hospitalized. Jeffery Hickson is now charged with Cruelty to Children.

We’re told the 9-year-old girl was spending the night with Hickson when she called her mother crying, begging to come home.

When the mother came to get her, she found Hickson and her daughter weren’t at home and called police. Deputies say when they arrived, Hickson pulled up to the house.

They noticed both he and his young daughter were drunk.

The child was taken to a local hospital where her blood alcohol level tested at .165, more than twice the legal limit.

Investigators say Hickson threatened to kill his daughter if she didn’t drink the beer. Hickson is also charged with DUI and two counts of DUI child endangerment.

His 5-year-old daughter was also in the car. She wasn’t hurt or under the influence of any substances.
