At the risk of sounding apathetic, this “story” is repeating itself every hour, of every day, of every week in our community. The life of a potential basketball star is no more valuable than anyone else. With that said, I would LOVE for all those who battle me while defending the democratic party, to please tell me what YOUR PARTY of choice is doing to address this epidemic. Well those of us who still have our wits about us, realize DEMS NOR REPs could care less about the loss of life, as long as the rest of you just show up and vote!

Smh good lord I hate to say this happens every year, theres always a highschool star athlete that gets killed, I send my prayers to his friends and family this is sad. Another innocent life gone smh

Not saying im not religious or anything but im tired of people saying. “Oh the world is about to end because of this and that”. There are trillions of things that happen around this world everyday that result in the wrong doing of someone and its been that way since the beginning of time. WTF people. Yes this is a sad sad story. RIP to a possible great.

When you’re 17 and have people sweating you like you could be the next big basketball star, your head is bloated. So him being out late, I’m sure he thought he was untouchable and full of himself, at that point in his life, but B’more is seriously NOT that place to show out. I don’t know what the feck was on his mind, he should have been inside, sleeping, nurturing his future basketball dreams.

The teen violence is way out of hand in my town and every town in America, and what will it take to stop it. The off the streets by midnight thing for under age kids sounds like the thing to do because most shooting happen after midnight. There are lots of daytime shootings but at least this will cut down on the murders. There was a young lady that got struck and killed by a car but it was at 5:00 AM, and the last shootings around here were at 1, 2, 3 AM.

RIP…All my prayers and condelences to his family and friends…This is happening way way too much, everywhere. We need to do better!

sometimes you feel want to feel sorry but you dont know what for..if your not 18 and older still living under your parents roof and you have school the next day or so.. there shouldn’t be any reason to be out this late.but all i can say is r.i.p to him

I’m highly upset to read these stories. It disappoints me that people don’t understand, yet it amazes me I’m not racist and have a hate for the $&@() whatever race. I actually get paranoid and scared everytime I have an encounter with the police because of my history in Philadelphia as a juvenile getting beat up by the police on three different occasions. They weren’t punished yet I still have fading scars from those assaults. Now I’m only 21 and I realize that I’m at a very fragile point in my life where many young black men don’t make whether it is their fault or not and many wouldn’t care so I have to be paranoid and I just wanted to ask the people is this the norm or is it me and if so is it fair.

God bless you. He had so much potential and it was just snatched away. I believe his family is truly the ones that have suffered the lost the most. God has him now so hes is safe from all hurt, harm , sorrow and disappointment.

Why black folks of Baltimore aint rioting in the streets demanding justice.

Well first of all my 17 year old son would not have been out that late ..i know we cant always protect our children but I would of made damn sure he had a curfew. Especially in Baltimore where they call it “MURDALAND” …this is just a sad situation my condolences to the family…he is at peace now.

This was a tragedy. He probably had a bright future ahead of him and they had to go and cut him down. This is why you don’t hang out with no good friends. They are speed bumps and only want to slow you down. The minute they see you going right and trying to fly, they break your wings.

I don’t know this child nor his reason for being out late. Im asuming that he was not happy living where he was living at and wanted to come back home to his grandmother. Yet whatever that reason is or was we will never know. That still is not a reason to let someone murder or over look the murder of this child.(JMO)
