A New York family who lost their 12-year-old son in 2010 is saying that a doctor who allegedly incorrectly filled a prescription is at fault.

While the son, Philippe Gallete, was a patient at the Queens Psychiatric Center, Dr. Marie Gisele St. Felix allegedly filled the wrong prescription, according to the suit filed.

Walgreens filled them both without questioning whether they were correct, the suit says.

Following the dosages on each bottle, the boy took so much of the drug that he overdosed, according to the suit filed by his adoptive mother, Pearl Pastor.

    May the Lord bless and keep this child and his family who suffered a great loss. When will some of these healthcare practitioners treat each patient as if he or she were their own loved one? Surely when a mistake shows up on their paychecks or bills to patients, they are quick to point that out, yet they can’t be as quick to take time to ensure they are not prescribing death and suffering to the most vulnerable patients.
