Don’t forget to watch the remake of the groundbreaking series Roots, airing over four consecutive nights at 9 p.m. EST beginning Monday, May 30 on the History Channel. This may be one of the biggest television events this weekend. The list of celebrities starring in the series reads like a who’s who in Hollywood: Laurence Fishburne, Forest Whitaker, Anna Paquin, T.I., and Anika Noni Rose, just to name a few.
With police shooting deaths in the national spotlight, BET documentary Stay Woke shows the #BlackLivesMatter movement’s impact on millennials and modern-day activism; 34-year-old actor and activist Jesse Williams is one of the series’ notable producers.
