Kim Kardashian has been using her celebrity to draw attention to people who are wrongfully in prison or have extremely harsh sentences. She famously assisted Alice Marie Johnson to get her released from prison in June of 2018. Now Kardashian is bringing attention to a man named Kevin Cooper, who is on death row for four murders in the 1980s, for which he says he is innocent and was framed. While Cooper is grateful for the exposure of the case, he has one request for the reality star.

According to TMZ, “Cooper is aware Kim tweeted about him a few days ago, putting his case front and center with her 60 million followers, but says he really just needs one person’s attention — CA Governor Jerry Brown. Cooper needs Gov. Brown to order new advanced DNA testing … a request that’s been ignored up to this point.”

Kim got the message. See the tweet she sent to Jerry Brown:

In 1983, Cooper was accused of hacking two adults and two children to death in San Bernardino County. However, Cooper, who is now 60, says he was framed. He told the Los Angeles Times in July, “They framed me because I was framable.” The Los Angeles Times also reports, “In May, Sens. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) called for fresh DNA testing after a New York Times column called the case against Cooper ‘outrageous.’ Earlier this year, four California law school deans called on Gov. Jerry Brown to open an independent investigation, declaring that Cooper’s claim of innocence ‘has never been fully and fairly evaluated.'”

Cooper has used all of his judicial appeals, only Governor Brown can help his case.
