“Surviving R. Kelly” aired last week on Lifetime and now R. Kelly, on his birthday, is reportedly under criminal investigation in the state of Georgia. This may be the first step in the R&B singer paying for his alleged crimes.

According to The Blast, “Since the airing of ‘Surviving R. Kelly,’ alleged sex slave Joycelyn Savage has been contacted by the Fulton County D.A. and ordered to come in for questioning related to her time with the singer. Our sources say the Savage family has been cooperating fully with the investigation.” Joycelyn is reportedly 23 years old.
The singer may be charged with false imprisonment.
Earlier today, The Blast also reported R. Kelly’s manager, Don Russell, has been harassing the Savage family. Timothy Savage, her father, called the police on January 3 just before 6 a.m. and “claimed he was receiving threats by a man named Don Russell, who is the manager for R. Kelly.” Russell allegedly sent text messages the morning of the premiere of “Surviving R. Kelly” that read “it would be best for him and his family if the documentary does not air.”
Asante McGee, who was in “Surviving R. Kelly” is reportedly being interviewed by police about the abuse she claims she endured at his mansion in Johns Creek, Georgia.
A reporter for the Huffington Post reports, “The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office told me they have ‘no comment at this time’ about an active investigation into R. Kelly in response to the docuseries ‘Surviving R. Kelly.'”
On January 6 TMZ reported he did not watch the docuseries, however, sources sad he is “disgusted.” In addition, “R. Kelly’s team downloaded him on the various people who appeared on the show and he claims he doesn’t even know half of them. He claims the other half hate him for various personal and professional reasons. R. Kelly also claims there were various people who wanted to go on camera and defend him but producers shut them out. The sources say R. Kelly is resolute — as one source put it, ‘He’s going to sue everybody who had anything to do with this.’”
Executive produced by Dream Hampton, the docu-series detailed accounts from people in Kelly’s circle, including the singer’s brother, Bruce, who outwardly said Kelly had a “preference” for young women and singer Sparkle (the aunt of the 14-year-old in the sex tape) who testified against him in court.
