Within 18 months, two Black men have died in the home of wealthy Democratic donor Ed Buck in West Hollywood, California and he has not been charged with a single crime. Now his lawyer is speaking out and claiming that people are attacking his client because they want a “race war.”

According to The Los Angeles Times, attorney Seymour Amster said, “Some people still want us to have a race war. Some people want to look at things as Black, white or brown. It’s not. If we want to move forward and get away from identifying individuals by race, we must take race out of the conversation.”
What a shocker. A white lawyer downplaying race, it’s the same narrative we see when a white cop guns down an unarmed Black man or child.
On Monday morning, 55-year-old Timothy Dean who allegedly worked at Saks Fifth Avenue, died at Buck’s home. See his photo below:
Dean’s roommate, Ottavio Taddei, told ABC 7, “I don’t really know what to tell you. He was a wonderful person. He’s always been super nice to me.” Taddei added, “I lived with him and he never did drugs. I’ve never seen him on drugs — ever.”
Black Lives Matters in Los Angeles have asked District Attorney Jackie Lacey — who is a Black woman — to press charges. Lacey never filed charges against Buck, 64, even after 26-year-old Gemmel Moore died in his home in July 2017.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Moore wrote in a journal a few months before he died that he was using drugs and “Ed Buck is the one to thank. He gave me my first injection of chrystal [sic] meth.”
On July 4, 23 days before Moore died, an escort reported Buck to authorities for drugging Black men, but nothing was done. After Moore died, Buck’s apartment was searched. Law enforcement allegedly “found the following items in Buck’s two-bedroom apartment: 24 syringes with brown residue, five glass pipes with white residue and burn marks, a plastic straw with possible white residue, clear plastic bags with white powdery residue and a clear plastic bag with a ‘piece of crystal-like substance.'”
According to The Advocate, Buck has a “fetish for shooting drugs into black men he picks up off the street or on hookup site.” The L.A. County Coroner’s office said Moore’s death was due to an overdose of methamphetamine.
Clearly, Buck’s money and privilege has allowed him to avoid jail time, which is completely about race.
