A video has gone viral of David Sean Bell, 51, of Black Mountain, North Carolina assaulting a 12-year-old girl. He punches her in the face, causing her to collapse to the ground. Bell has been arrested.

The incident reportedly happened at the Asheville Mall on Saturday, Jan. 12. While there aren’t many details as to what led up to Bell attacking a child, there is no reason why he should have assaulted her. See the disturbing clip below:

ABC 13 WLOS reports, “Asheville police said a fight involving juveniles broke out at the mall that evening, and during the fight, David Steven Bell pushed a girl under 12 years of age, and then struck her.” Bell is a police officer who was off duty at the time.
He has been charged with “one count of assault on a female under 12 and two counts of assault on a female.” After the incident went viral, the Asheville Mall posted this on social media, “We are aware of the videos circulating on social media. The Asheville Police Department responded immediately and the situation was diffused. An arrest has been made. Please contact the Asheville Police Department with further questions.”
WLOS also reports the child who was assaulted has not been identified, and there is no word on the extent of her injuries. However, The Citizen Times reports no one needed to go to the hospital.
Hopefully, justice is served and Bell loses his job as a police officer sooner than later.
