Tory Lanez Stabbed 14 Times During Prison Attack

New information has emerged about the stabbing incident involving rapper Tory Lanez. According to a statement shared on the Hip-Hop star’s Instagram account on May 12, Lanez was stabbed 14 times by an inmate at the California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi, the prison where he’s currently serving out his 10-year prison sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.
The rapper sustained several stab wounds to his back, head, face, and torso.
The rapper suffered multiple stab wounds: seven to his back, four to his torso, two to the back of his head, and one to the left side of his face, according to the update. Both lungs collapsed, requiring him to be placed on a “breathing apparatus.” He is now breathing independently.
“Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, in good spirits and deeply thankful to God that he is pulling through,” the statement added. “He also wants to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support.”
According to the Associated Press, Lanez, 32, was hospitalized at a nearby facility in Bakersfield early Monday morning after sustaining injuries from the violent attack. The incident occurred around 7:20 a.m. While initial reports suggested that the Canadian artist was assaulted in the prison yard, state officials have since clarified the location of the incident. Pedro Calderon Michel, spokesperson for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, told AP that the stabbing took place inside one of the facility’s housing units.
Correctional staff responded quickly, providing Lanez with immediate medical attention before calling emergency services.
The prison’s internal investigative services unit is now working in coordination with the Kern County District Attorney’s Office to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack. Authorities have not disclosed any information about suspects or motives at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
As previously reported, just three days prior to the incident, the Hip-Hop artist took to Instagram to share a major update with fans. In the post, he announced his upcoming sophomore album and offered a brief glimpse into his current state of mind. The Canadian rapper posted a striking photo of himself dressed in an all-white outfit, highlighting his toned physique. Despite his incarceration and ongoing legal challenges, Lanez appeared calm and self-assured, wearing a confident expression that hinted at resilience and a determination to stay positive.
