Marcos Colono, a 32-year-old man from Cambridge, Massachusetts has been charged with hacking a man with a knife in an attempt to decapitate him and raping his 11-year-old son.

Colono is charged for an August 26th Cambridge home invasion, where he allegedly, forced a 56-year-oldĀ  Harvard researcher and his 11-year-old son to lie on top of each other while he searched for money. Police say he then took the father and son up to the father’s bedroom where he sexually assaulted the son at knifepoint, while forcing the father to watch. When the boy refused to comply with Colono’s demands, police say Colono stabbed both father and son, nearly decapitating the father

Police are also connecting Colono to a home invasion and rape in nearby Brighton, Massachusetts where two women were forced to lie on top of each other before being raped.

In 2003, Marcos Colono’s brother, Michael Colono was stabbed and killed by Harvard graduate student, Alexander Pring-Wilson, in an altercation in Cambridge which led to a national media attention for Pring Wilson’s trial.
