1619 Project
A Virginia Library is paying Nikole Hannah-Jones more than $35,000 for a speech titled “The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story."
According to Hulu’s synopsis, each episode in the docuseries will dive deeper into the essays from the book, 'The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story.'
The course will be open to all students and could have a significant impact in opening up the minds of young and talented Black individuals and help shape future leaders.
After members of a group that invited Nikole Hannah-Jones to give an MLK Day speech said the "1619 Project" author was dishonoring Dr. King, she gave an address using Martin Luther King Jr.'s own words aimed at conservatives who whitewash MLK's legacy.
Jones tweeted she was touched by the posts.
A children’s book inspired by ‘The 1619 Project’ is slated to hit shelves this fall.
Republicans like Tennessee State Rep. Justin Lafferty, who incorrectly claimed the Three-Fifths Compromise was enacted to ensure slavery didn’t spread, continue to make a mockery of history.
