In the wake of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources releasing the name of Jeffrey Hubbard, 38, as the man who ran over 11-year-old Kile Glover while jet-skiing on Atlanta’s Lake Lanier, Tameka Foster Raymond and Ryan Glover ask for prayers for their son, who has officially been declared brain dead, in a statement to CNN.

“We know God’s in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time,” Kile’s family said in a statement to CNN Tuesday. “We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it’s the best way we can all support him now.”

According to the family, Kile’s stepfather, R&B singer Usher, visited him Saturday morning but has not returned to the hospital.

Kile’s father is the president of Bounce TV and a former executive with Turner Broadcasting. A close friend of the family spoke with RadarOnline.com about how much he loves his son, yet has been largely ignored by the media:

“Although Usher has been so kind in chartering a plane so she could be by Kile’s side, he didn’t necessarily play a huge role in Tameka’s other children’s lives after the divorce therefore it seems a little disrespectful that Ryan is being ignored as a father, in place of another just because he’s topping the Billboard charts.

“Ryan was equally devoted and involved in Kile’s life — they shared joint custody and Kile was with his other family at the lake, so for those who are claiming Tameka’s at fault for not being there is just absurd — because of the joint custody, her two boys aren’t always directly in her eyesight, but she is a phenomenal mother.”

As previously reported by NewsOne.com, a 15-year-old girl was also injured in the accident, her condition is unknown.

Foster Raymond is also a dedicated mother to sons Darrin, 21, Ryan, 13, Usher V, 4, and Naviyd Ely, 3 in an exclusive interview with TheGrio.com she beamed with pride when discussing their futures:

“My kids take precedence over business; however, I do business for my kids. I want them to know that their mom works and she’s independent. I have to leave a legacy for my sons, so that eventually when I go on to glory,” Raymond said, “they have the savvy to keep it going. I definitely want to birth an entrepreneurial spirit within them. I don’t believe in silver-spoon children and you will not see my boys hanging on a beach all day, posing for paparazzi.”
