Cory Booker, mayor of Newark, New Jersey and United States senate candidate, has been exchanging private messages with a Portland stripper and she wants the world to know, reports Buzzfeed.com.

Lynsie Lee, a stripper at vegan strip club Casa Diablo, appears in Follow Friday: the film — a film about Twitterwith Booker and, apparently, they became friends.

When Lee flirtatiously told Booker that she had “dibs” on being First Lady if he ever became president of the United States, another Twitter user, Calla Bonanno, stepped in and laid claim to Booker, saying that they ‘DM’ (exchange private messages) on a regular basis.

That’s when Lynsie Lee decided to reveal a private exchange that she had Booker.

Read the hilarious, perfect response from Booker’s campaign below:

“I think it’s pretty well known that the mayor talks with people from all walks of life on Twitter,” Booker spokesman Kevin Griffis told Daily Intelligencer. “There have been a couple of stories about that over the years. Really, the most shocking part of this story was learning there is a vegan strip club in Portland.”

As previously reported by NewsOne, Booker has faced mounting scrutiny about his sexuality, most recently telling the Washington Post that the speculation didn’t bother him at all:

“People who think I’m gay, some part of me thinks it’s wonderful. Because I want to challenge people on their homophobia. I love seeing on Twitter when someone says I’m gay, and I say, ‘So what does it matter if I am? So be it. I hope you are not voting for me because you are making the presumption that I’m straight.'” Booker said.

Steve Lonegan, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in New Jersey, let his homophobia show by attempting to smear Booker for not being masculine enough.

It seems as if Booker’s sexuality is going to be the Obama birth certificate of the New Jersey senate race. While that’s unfortunate, it’s nothing but Republican politics as usual.
