The federal government recently changed their requirements to secure grants for organizations that help at-risk youth of color. With the new rule, the only organizations eligible for the $20 mil grants are those with a presence in 45 states. Before, it was just 30. Thursday, regular “NewsOne Now” panelist Lauren Victoria Burke stopped by to discuss her report on the topic and explained how the policy change pushes out organizations like 100 Black Men and black fraternities but clears the way for groups like Big Brothers Big Sisters.
