father, son killed Inglewood

Just after midnight on Saturday in South Los Angeles, Tynisa Guyton, 37, and her husband of 10 years, Anthony Guyton, were returning home after celebrating his birthday when shots rang out.

“Me and my wife were just going in the house and two guys rolled up and started shooting at us for no reason,” Anthony Guyton told the L.A. Times.

Tynisa Guyton suffered gunshot wounds to her torso and died at the scene. The couple’s three children were sleeping inside of the home.

The couple ran for shelter inside of their home but their assailants, described as two Black males, jumped out of a dark sedan and began firing at the house. Anthony said that he heard at least 20 shots.

“My wife was a beautiful person,” Guyton said. “I just lost my best friend. She’s gone. Just like an empty hole in my heart. My kids just lost their mother. I have no explanation for that. None whatsoever.”

The Guytons celebrated their 10 year anniversary in May and were planning  their daughter’s 8-year-old birthday party.
