The Twitterverse exploded in June when actor and comedian Kevin Hart pledged to donate $50,000 to Texas Southern University‘s Ocean of Soul marching band on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. MyHoustinMajic.com reported that Hart hung with Tom Joyner’s crew all morning to co-host and promote his new movie “Think Like A Man Too” earlier this summer. The news of the pledge was confirmed by TSU’s Alumni Relations handle and was retweeted by Hart himself.

On August 1 through 3, TSU alumnus Michael Strahan was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. To honor his achievement and celebrate Tiger pride, the Ocean of Soul marching band was invited to participate in the prestigious Enshrinement Celebration by leading the Grand Parade through downtown Canton and performing at the Fan Appreciation Tailgate Party on the Hall of Fame Campus.
