Muhammad Ali Parkinson's Disease Treatment Center Opens (thumbnail)Former three-time world heavyweight champion of the world Muhammad Ali (pictured) was reportedly hospitalized on Saturday with a “mild case” of pneumonia and is in stable condition according to USA Today.

Ali, who has suffered from Parkinson’s for about 30 years, has reportedly grown increasingly frail due to the disease’s debilitating effects on the central nervous system.

According to the family’s longtime spokesperson, Bob Gunnell, Ali’s latest health scare was caught in its early stages so the “prognosis is good” and his hospital stay “will be brief.”

As to where the champ is hospitalized remains a mystery as his family is requesting privacy with regards to any other bits of information about his condition. Coincidentally, just earlier this month, Ali attended his grandson’s football game in Las Vegas and appeared to be in seemingly good spirits.

Ali, who maintains three residences (one in Michigan, another in Arizona, and a home in his hometown of Louisville, Ky.), has been the subject of deathbed rumors over the last few years. Only last February, Ali’s brother, Rahman Ali, told a British paper that his then-71-year-old sibling was on his deathbed. “My brother can’t speak. He doesn’t recognize me. He’s in a bad way. He’s very sick. It could be months, it could be days. I don’t know if he’ll last the summer. He’s in God’s hands. We hope he gently passes away,” Rahman told The Sun.

Ali’s daughter May May Ali, however, informed the public her dad was fine, squelching the ugly news reported by Rahman that spread like wildfire.

On Sunday, daughter Laila Ali tweeted that her dad was hanging in there and thanked everyone for their love and well wishes.

Champ, we wish you well!
