Americans woke up to the surprising outcome of the “Brexit” vote, resulting in the United Kingdom’s decision to withdraw membership from the European Union.
The people of Britain voted on a referendum in which they had to choose between remaining in the European Union or leaving. While deeply divided about the decision, the secessionists won by a margin of less than 3 percent.
