CAMBRIDGE-Defense lawyer John A. Amabile suggested that a mistrial might be possible yesterday after it was revealed that his client, Jabrai Copney, who is on trial for murdering Justin Cosby, was placed in the same transport van with Blayn Jiggetts, his former friend and co-defendant who had just testified against him and allegedly had a heated conversation with him in the police van.
Amabile claims it was Jiggetts who actually shot Cosby despite the fact that both co-defendants Jiggets and Jason Aquino have said that Copney was the shooter.
Jiggetts had previously testified that he had the gun during the robbery but handed it to Copney who then shot Cosby. The prosecution wants the conversation between Jiggetts and Copney used as evidence.
