On Sunday, footage of a teenage Kanye West surfaced on the web, showcasing a 19-year-old West performing in his native Chicago, courtesy of DDotOmen.

On Monday, another video from the same source hit the Internet — and it couldn’t have been at a better time.

The footage is of a pre-teen West — most likely 12 or 13 years of age — at Chicago’s Vanderpoel Elementary School reciting an original poem titled “His Name Means Love.”

The poem was dedicated to the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who would’ve been 83 today. Watch the video below:
