Kenneth Lamont Vaughan (pictured) was charged with felony larceny after allegedly robbing an elderly woman who passed out in her motorized wheelchair while shopping at a Roxboro, N.C., Walmart, reports the New York Daily News.
She reportedly passed out after taking her medication. The 42-year-old man was cuffed four days after the incident.
Vaughan’s unscrupulous antics were caught by surveillance cameras. He is seen creeping on Queen Walters as she sat sleeping in her wheelchair in the office supplies aisle. He is seen grabbing the 76-year-old’s handbag, then absconding with its content of $300 in cash, keys, credit cards, driver’s license and medication.

According to the Daily News, Roxboro Police Chief Todd Boycher said “Instead of doing the right thing and checking on her condition or letting someone know, he reaches in her cart, gets her purse and walks off with it.”
Police were able to apprehend Vaughan after the clip of the video went viral. The department was bombarded with tips of the suspect’s whereabouts. Durham authorities picked Vaughan up last Friday after a routine traffic stop. He tried to outrun the officers but they were able to capture him.
