While signing an executive order to increase security protection for government credit cards, President Barack Obama made workers from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau laugh out loud when he admitted that his credit card had been rejected last month at a restaurant in New York City while he was there for the United Nations General Assembly, reports Mediaite.com.

“I should mention, by the way, that I went to a restaurant in New York when I was at the U.N. General Assembly, and my credit card was rejected,” the president said, making the crowd roar with laughter.

“It turned out I guess I don’t use it enough, so they thought there was some fraud going on. Fortunately, Michelle had hers. I was trying to explain to the waitress I really think that I’ve been paying my bills.”

Obama then quipped that the incident showed that even he was affected by the issue of credit card protection.
