A twin who stumped the internet when she posted a photograph of her sister and her mother has come clean — the mom is on the left.

The photo of the youthful looking trio divided the internet last week, lighting up social media as many speculated which one was the mom and which two were the 16-year-old twins.

From the NY Daily News:

The identical Indianapolis trio whose selfie stumped the Internet told the Daily News that mother Tina Brown, 35, is the woman on the left, followed by her 16-year-old twin daughters Kyla and Kaylan Mahomes, respectively.

“I am the one in the black blazer on the left,” said Brown, laughing. “We didn’t really expect a random picture from when I was picking up the girls from school would lead to all this.”

The girls’ mother admits that people remark on their striking resemblance all the time.

“It’s very flattering,” says Brown, a hospice nurse. “Most people think I’m their older sister, or sometimes they think we’re triplets.”

The mother hopes the girls newfound fame will help them obtain scholarships to advance their future. The twins have dreams of being pharmacists.

A photo of a mom and her twin daughters has everyone on the web repeating the old saying, “Black don’t crack.”

It all began when high-schooler Kaylan Mahomes posted a photo to Twitter on January 28, featuring her mother, herself, and her twin sister Kyla. All wearing little-to-no makeup and sleek tresses, the description “Mom, twin and me,” didn’t break down who was who.

The Indianapolis natives’ photo went viral, garnering over 19,000 retweets and the formation of their own “Mom, twin and me” Instagram page. The ladies shared a video of themselves in similar poses, but everyone is still stumped.

Many have speculated the woman in the middle is the mother, but others have determined the woman on the left might be thanks to her more professional black blazer. The twins have yet to give away the true answer.
