The conspiracy theories have already started to fly on social media as racial tensions rise over the deaths of two unarmed Black men, Philando Castile and Alton Sterling, followed by the deadly ambush of five Dallas, Texas police officers, who were allegedly shot by a lone Black man.

The loss of life on both sides has certainly rocked the America. But as the nation mourns the tragedy, many speculate what transpired the night of July 7, 2016.

Here are some of the conspiracies from the internet:

1. The shooting was choreographed.

A former special effects technician explains in a YouTube video why he believes that the Dallas shooting was a mix of reality and fiction, noting that bullets only spark in the movies. He examined a video of the shooting, which was shot from a certain angle, describing it like a Wild West show at Disney World. Watch the video above.

2. The shooting was designed to shift public support away from the Black Lives Matter movement in favor of police.

What is Cointelpro? According to the FBI, the acronym stands for “Counterintelligence Program—in 1956 to disrupt the activities of the Communist Party of the United States. In the 1960s, it was expanded to include a number of other domestic groups, such as the Ku Klux Klan, the Socialist Workers Party, and the Black Panther Party. All COINTELPRO operations were ended in 1971. Although limited in scope (about two-tenths of one percent of the FBI’s workload over a 15-year period), COINTELPRO was later rightfully criticized by Congress and the American people for abridging first amendment rights and for other reasons.”

Don’t forget that the “War On Drugs” was a draconian tactic that negatively impacted communities of color, contributing to urban blight and wiping out a whole generation of young Black men who were locked behind bars for nonviolent crimes.

The policy was aimed at disrupting Blacks and war protesters, John D. Ehrlichman, an advisor to former President Richard Nixonstated in a 1994 interview that was recently released in a Harper’s magazine feature:

It was not until speaking to Richard Nixon’s domestic policy adviser, John Ehrlichman, that Baum began to hazard the answer he long feared: the catastrophic collateral wrought by the drug war on the lives of millions of black families was intentional. “Did we know we were lying about the drugs?” Ehrlichman told Baum in 1994. “Of course we did.” The Nixon White House thought of the antiwar left and black people as enemies. “But by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities.”

3. Micah X. Johnson, the alleged shooter, was a pawn. Where did they find that X?

In a video that has received over 100,000 views since it was posted Friday, TeamWakeEmUP unpacks several conspiracies, including one that claims alleged Dallas cop killer Micah Xavier Johnson, or Micah X, was dreamed up to dismantle the movement against police brutality.

Johnson, a dashiki-clad-gun-toting-Black-power-fist-pumping-handsome brother with military experience and a middle name that begins with X, is a convenient pawn in the push to discredit BLM.

4. The other three shooters were White, which is why they are still alive.

Police were questioning four shooters, but only one (Micah X. Johnson), who is Black, was shot and killed. The Internet has some theories about this:

5. The government orchestrated the shootings.

Heavy writes that Redditor DrHenryPym suggests, “the government is ‘Preparing military state, i.e. marshal law, — first by removing powers of the second amendment with the use of the PATRIOT act (because it nullifies our constitution (cos terrorism)), — then by opening borders to radical migrants, some with terrorist training, — and then fascism 3.0: new world order, i.e. military governments ruled by a set of multinational conglomerates controlled by central banks.” But why Dallas? He adds: “The CIA has sniping experience with Dallas,’ a reference to the assassination of US President John F. Kennedy, which, according to a Gallup poll conducted in April 2015, six-tenths of Americans still believe is a conspiracy.”

6. The president is colluding with BLM to make a case for a third-term in office.

Redflag News theorizes that Barack Obama is working in collusion with BLM to make a case for a third-term for the president, which was allegedly revealed in DeRay Mckesson‘s hacked emails, writes Heavy:

“[T]he mainline press made no mention of the real purpose for the hack, which was to obtain secret information about a George Soros and Obama Administration sponsored plot, an elaborate operation dubbed the “Summer of Chaos,” which is aimed at shutting down both the Democratic National Convention and the Republican National Convention in order to trigger martial law nationwide, keeping President Barack H. Obama in the White House beyond his allotted two terms under National Security Presidential Directives.”
