In today’s episode of Trigger-Happy Cops, an actor almost lost his life in Crawfordsville, Ind. when police showed up to a movie set with guns drawn thinking he was a real-life armed robber.

Actor Jeff Duff was filming with Montgomery County Productions at the time of the incident, which occurred in late September, Deadline reported. Crawfordsville Police were called to the Back Step Brewing Company to handle a possible robbery, only to arrive to a masked man walking out of the brewery holding what they thought was a gun. When Duff didn’t respond quickly enough to their order to drop his weapon, the police shot at the actor, barely missing his head and hitting the building.

“It was very close,” actor Phillip Demoret told local TV station RTV6. “I don’t want to think about it. If it had hit him, we’d be having a whole different conversation.”

As it turns out, no one—including the production company—had notified the police or nearby business about the movie shoot. Still, it’s terrifying to think what could have happened had the bullet not missed.

“There’s a lesson to be learned on both sides of the spectrum from us as a low budget movie company and from the police department on their quick reaction,” Kodi Swank, co-owner of Montgomery County Productions said. “I’m very grateful that the police department did their job to the best of their ability with an unknown situation.”

The shooting is currently under investigation by Indiana State Police.
