Nipsey Hussle‘s memorial service is scheduled for this Thursday, April 11 in Los Angeles at the Staples Center. Reportedly, the 21,000-capacity arena sold out within minutes. Now, Angelique Smith, his mother has posted a beautiful message to everyone who is still mourning the loss of her 33-year-old son.

Smith said,” When you live your life and you have God on your side. When God dwells inside of you, there is no fear. Everything is in perfect, everything is in the divine perfect order of our creator. I have perfect peace and I have strength and I want to lift you up. Please, do not stay down. Do not stay stuck. Do not mourn because Nipsey is great.”

She continued, “And now he is even greater because he has no bounds in no limits. His energy is everywhere. He’s there with you now and he’s here with me now. Please be encouraged.”

Earlier in the week, Nipsy grandmother, Margaret Boutte, 88, told CBS in Los Angeles, “I never knew there was so much love like I love him. So that’s uplifting that so many people loved and understood him… I hope these young people will get the message and live a better life – live a better life.”

The man accused of shooting Hussle is 29-year-old Eric Holder. He was arrested in Bellflower, California, which is located in southeast Los Angeles.

Hussle’s grandmother only had kind words for Holder

“I’m praying for him too,” she said. “I hope he does not get killed in custody. Have enough time to ask God for forgiveness. I’m Catholic, I do believe in prayer and I’m praying for him. He was a young, ignorant situation and I’m hoping he’s sorry for what he did.”

It is quite possible Hussle’s death will create change for the youth in his hometown of South Central Los Angeles. There was a unity meeting with gang members on Friday, when rival gang leaders came together for a Nipsey Hussle vigil.

Los Angeles police Chief Michel Moore implied there was a feud between Hussle and Holder. He “declined to elaborate on the feud between the two, saying he didn’t want to jeopardize any potential prosecution, but he said the suspect approached Nipsey and others multiple times, engaging them in conversation,” CNN.com reported. Moore did say the dispute does not appear gang-related.

Rest in power, Nipsey Hussle.
