Former NFL player Reggie Bush was receiving backlash for allegedly starting a GoFundMe page for Nipsey Hussle‘s children. After he was asked to take down the crowdfunding page, the message was clear: The late rapper’s family is reportedly already well taken care of and not accepting any donations.

“We’re told the family is grateful for the outpouring of support, but as one source put it — Nip just wouldn’t want it that way, and since he left his family financially secure … it’s just not necessary,” TMZ reported Tuesday morning.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Hussle was worth $8 million at the time of his death late last month. Also, considering his multiple investments, including buying a strip mall, one can only imagine how the rapper set up secure legacy for his children.

Hussle was shot and killed outside of his Marathon Clothing store in South Central Los Angeles on March 31. The suspect, 29-year-old Eric Holder, was arrested on April 2 in Bellflower, California, which is located in southeast Los Angeles. He has been charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

Los Angeles police Chief Michel Moore implied there was a feud between Hussle and Holder. He “declined to elaborate on the feud between the two, saying he didn’t want to jeopardize any potential prosecution, but he said the suspect approached Nipsey and others multiple times, engaging them in conversation,” CNN.com reported. Moore did say the dispute does not appear gang-related.

While the tragedy has clearly been heartbreaking for Hussle’s family they appear to be staying strong by remaining rooted in faith. Angelique Smith, his mother, posted a beautiful message on social media last week.

Smith said,” When you live your life and you have God on your side. When God dwells inside of you, there is no fear. Everything is in perfect, everything is in the divine perfect order of our creator. I have perfect peace and I have strength and I want to lift you up. Please, do not stay down. Do not stay stuck. Do not mourn because Nipsey is great.”

She continued, “And now he is even greater because he has no bounds in no limits. His energy is everywhere. He’s there with you now and he’s here with me now. Please be encouraged.”
