Last week a 13-year old boy named Robert Freeman was shot 22 times while riding his bicycle in front of his home on Chicago’s far south side. Last night I almost became a statistic while taking my daily walk in another south-Chicago neighborhood not far from where Freeman was killed.

Reports are surfacing out of Minnesota that Vikings QB Brett Favre has informed his teammates he will retire.  The team nor Favre has confirmed the story, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that he sent a text message to his teammates informing them of his decision.

Tuesday might just be the day that the disastrous Gulf oil leak is finally and completely stopped.
