An organization of Black men was among the scores of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) supporters at a rally on Sunday in downtown Philadelphia, NBC News reports.

A large bus with the group’s name, “Black Men for Bernie,” and images of the Democratic runner-up emblazoned on the side led a caravan of smaller vehicles to the rally, which took place close to the Wells Fargo Center, where the Democratic National Convention kicks off on Monday (July 25).

Bruce Carter, who drove the main bus, told NBC that he supports Sanders because of his long commitment to ending racial inequality.

“When you can do that at an early age, you’re worthy of people understanding that you ‘know.’ That was the biggest draw—and the integrity that he’s lived led me to be more committed to the process,” Carter added.

The organization urges Black men to unite and take responsibility for their families and communities, according to its website.

“If we do not begin to take action and stand firm with individuals willing to fight for our rights, individuals like Bernie Sanders, Hillary becomes the result; someone who would rather do the Nae Nae to get your vote, than tackle issues destroying black families across the nation,” the site states.

Another Sanders supporter at the rally told NBC that she distrusts Hillary Clinton and the process that enabled her to win the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. The woman, who wanted to be identified only by her first name, Ishara, told the network that she will rally behind Sanders until Clinton gets the official nomination.
