A 14-year-old vocal powerhouse from Philadelphia kicked off the DNC with an angelic rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Bobby Hill, who first gained notoriety for singing during Pope Francis‘ U.S. visit last September, is a member of the Keystone State Boychoir. Hill’s soprano range wowed the Pope and actor Mark Wahlberg, who presided as Master of Ceremonies.

Keystone State recently celebrated 15 years and is one of the youngest, world-renowned choirs in the world, performing 25 to 30 times a year.

Hill was thankful for the opportunity to perform on the opening night, expressing his sentiment on Twitter:

Noted musical acts took the DNC stage throughout the night, including legendary hometown natives Boyz II Men, former Disney star Demi Lovato, and iconic singer Paul Simon.
