Top High School Basketball Player Charged With Breaking and Entering

Local high school basketball standout John Wall, one of the nation’s top uncommitted college prospects, has been cited with breaking and entering, Raleigh police said Monday.

Johnathan Hildred Wall, a 6-4 playmaker, averaged 21 points, seven rebounds and nine assists for Raleigh Word of God Christian Academy this past season. He is the No. 1-ranked point guard in the country by both Rivals.com and Scout.com.

Authorities said Wall, 18, was charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering in connection with an April 27 break-in at an unoccupied home at 3924 Laurel Glen Drive in Raleigh.

An officer saw Wall leaving from the rear of the residence and was able to detain him, police said. Police said there was no forced entry at the residence and no indication that anything was taken from it.

Wall, the most highly recruited high school player in the country, is being pursued by a number of colleges, including North Carolina State University and Duke University.

    ok so it was unoccupied, nothing was taken and no force entry was shown…where is the story here, If you are black living in NC and have NOT been arrested at least once, now thats a story that I would like to read about!!
    So he/she can tell how they managed that impossible feat.

    they didn’t have to arrest him. The officer could have went to the home an checked things out along w/ Mr. Wall and if nothing seem disturb, gsve him a warning and let it go..Maybe Mr. wall was curious and wanted to see if things were ok in the vacant house..Maybe thats a house where him an his friends chill out at..just unfortunate the cop saw him coming out..i shouldn’t think that this mishap should put a damper on him being recruited, but no telling in N.C….race relations there is not to pretty.

    mr wall is just stupid, why do black folks make everything out to be racism. even though there is alot of racism. all this dude has to do is humble hisself for one a few months. he is about to be a millionaire. there probably wasnt nothing in that house that he is not about to have in less than or a little over a year.

    I honestly don’t understand what he did wrong here…He walked inside an abandoned house? Since when did that become illegal? People do that all the time. He didn’t steal anything. They make cartoons and television shows on kids channels about seeing what’s on the inside of abandoned houses. I’m all for holding people accountable no matter what race they are, but this makes zero sense. He didn’t do anything illegal. Sounds like a bunch of jealous or racist cops. I’m hoping it’s the former, but who knows

    I am black and I get sick and tire of hearing racism because he is black.Blacks now days are always crying racism. If he were here in LA it would have been a felony and a strike. His case is a misdemeanor which is nothing, but big deal.It is hopefully a lesson learned. Black people wake up you screw up and you have to pay for your mistakes and that is not racism it the law stupid people. Joe
