Princeton professor Cornel West is on a mission to tear down President Obama.
The latest stop on his tour was on MSNBC’s The Ed Show. On the show, West complained about the issue of Black unemployment and his belief that the president doesn’t care about poor people.
He even went as far to say that Obama feels more comfortable around “Jews and whites” than around “free Black men” who he believes the president fears.
I think he does have a predilection much more toward upper-class white brothers and Jewish brothers and a certain distance from free black men who will tell him the truth about himself as well as what’s going on in black communities, brown communities, red communities and poor white and working-class communities.
This wasn’t the only story that emerged yesterday concerning West and Obama. An article written by Chris Hedges in TruthDig has West referring to Obama as “a black mascot of Wall Street oligarchs and a black puppet of corporate plutocrats….he has become head of the American killing machine and is proud of it.”
The piece also mentioned the endless campaigning West feels he did for Obama in 2008 on his way to the presidency. He talks about Obama never returning his calls and said he once felt like “smacking him upside the head” when he didn’t receive a ticket to his 2009 inauguration.
