A burglar reportedly made the mistake of trying to rob rapper and actor LL Cool J (pictured) Wednesday morning, and according to TMZ, LL Cool J, who is known for always being in tip-top shape, was able to force the thief in to submission until the police arrived.

Around 2 a.m., LL reportedly heard noises coming from the first floor of his home. Shortly after, the burglar reportedly tripped the house’s alarm system. Once LL, whose real name is James Todd Smith, spotted the intruder, he reportedly got in to “hand-to-hand combat” with the man.

According to law enforcement, while the burglar sustained bruises from the incident, LL, 44, came out virtually unscathed.

Unlike most artists, LL has had a diverse career as a rapper, author, and actor. While the MC is known for past albums, such as “G.O.A.T.,” “Mama Said Knock You Out,” and “Phenomenon,” even as recently as this year, LL released “Super Baller” for the New York Giants Super Bowl victory. LL has also released four books, including 2007’s “The Platinum Workout.”

Since 2009, LL has also been playing the role of Special Agent “Sam Hanna” on “NCIS Los Angeles” and announced this summer that he is working on releasing his 13th studio album.
