The 10-year-old girl had just left her apartment at E. 108th Street in Canarsie around 8:30a.m. when the man suddenly grabbed her, reportedly asking, “Do you kiss?’

He then allegedly forced her in to a building at the nearby Breukelen Housing Projects (pictured), where they rode in an elevator to the seventh floor. Once they got out, the man allegedly began attacking her, shoving her to the ground and beating her over the head with one of his shoes.

The girl reportedly began screaming for help and the attacker fled. Neighbors heard her cries asking for protection, the New York Daily News noted.

“Help! Help! Let me in before he comes back,”, a tenant heard the girl scream from the hallway. The tenant called police and helped treat her head wound. The girl was taken to Kings County Hospital, where she’s currently listed in stable condition.

According to police, the suspect is described as a Black male between the ages of 16 and 25 years old. He also wore black sweatpants and black jeans during the attack. There are no other leads at this time.
