Cher is doing her part to help out the people of Flint as they continue to deal with city’s water crisis.

Flint has been struggling with a crisis since 2014. It recently came to light that the Flint’s drinking water has suffered from severe contamination when officials began siphoning river water into the drinking supply to save money. Since the river water was untreated, it breeded lead contamination as metal from pipes leached into the water.

President Barack Obama has intervened by sending federal aid to Flint in hopes of cleaning up the water supply. But until things have been cleared up, The Detroit Free Press reports that Cher is helping out by sending bottles of clean water.

“This is a tragedy of staggering proportion and shocking that it’s happening in the middle of our country,” Cher told the Associated Press.

Now more than 180,000 bottles of water are being shipped to Flint courtesy of Cher and water company Icelandic Glacial, which pledged to double her donation. The Free Press reports that the bottles should be arriving starting Wednesday.
